Best Actress Charlize Theron (for Monster) shimmered in an elegant Gucci gown that showed off her tawny complexion

Charlize Theron, Gucci 2004

Even though awards season has passed, I looked for inspiration for what I would wear to a wedding (its most definitely that season). I picked my top favorite Oscars dresses over the years. You never want to outdo the bride by wearing white, so that's completely out of the question. I love the drama navy draws when it's paired with a great style, but dark colors never agree with heat and sun. Glitz is wonderful but again, I don't want to outdo the bride so that leaves me with the yellow Vera Wang gown (Michele), champagne Gucci gown (Charlize), and the pewter Lanvin gown (Natalie).

I adore bright colors because they look great with bronze colored skin (mine!), but yellow isn't going to work when  the wedding party is also decked out in buttercup yellow. That leaves me with champagne and pewter as the last choices. While I love both, I decided to make my dress like the Lanvin dress because I can still wear the neccessity, the bra. Deciding is hard but drawing inspiration can make the process easier
